Big Girl

First day of school for my big kindergartner.
She still has had only minor complaints, but really enjoys schools!
Which makes me happy and put at ease she is enjoying her school days.

Maddie Story 1

Me: Should we fill up the pool and go swimming?

Girls: YEA!
...
Me: Ok, I'm gonna put Joaquin's swim suit on him for the first time, isn't it cute?

Maddie: Oh, is that what boys wear?

Me: Yep

Maddie: So he doesn't have a boy tutu swim suit like me?

Me: Nope, boys just wear swim shorts

Maddie: So boys don't have to cover their nipples?

Maddie Story 2

Me: Maddie it looks like you need to go pee.

Maddie: No, Mama I'm just doing to the "Cha Cha Dance."

Joaquin Turns 1!

May 16th, was Joaquin's 1st Birthday.
365 days around the sun.
So in honor of his birthday, I decided I'll write him a letter.

Dear Joaquin (aka Joaquin the Bean),
You let me know you were about to enter the world on a warm spring evening. Early the next morning, I saw your beautiful face for the first time. Precious little baby boy we named you Joaquin Elijah.
Everyone said you looked like a Baker, and why not we use the same recipe every time:) Your brother Parker was so happy to finally have a brother, and your sisters were happy to have a real little baby to hold. Dada was happy to have another boy to play catch with, and me, I was just happy being your mama.
You entered the world strong, crawling at 5 months and walking at 10. You make me laugh everyday with the little games you like to play. I love it when you walk up to me with your little bowed legs and give me a little smirk, and I smile back and you run away. Then you walk back to me and laugh and when I look at you and laugh you run away, it never gets old.
Your favorite song is, "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" you like to dance, you say, "mama, Dada" and " hi." You love baths, and balls, and puppies and just being outside. Your favorite food is beans and avocados. You like to play games, and to be chased and tickled. Now you are one and we are beginning to see your personality emerge, and everyday is joy to watch you grow and discover new things. The amazing thing about the human heart is it never runs out of room to love another human, I think God did that on purpose.

out of winter comes spring

Out of winter comes spring,

and a spring baby boy is almost 1.

Little fuzzy creatures emerge

new little lives are born (or hatched).

New little seeds are started.

A spring girl, who gave me my first beautiful entrance into motherhood was born in spring and gave me new sight on the world.

All things new and renewed in spring.

Thought of today

Alright, I'm back to this blogging thing.
Thoughts of today:
My babies are growing up to fast, I wish they would stay little longer. I think this is all coming from Isabella turning 5, and how fast those 5 years flew by and that in the next 5 years she will be 10. I think I have little sentimental moments of craziness at time. I was cradling Bella in my arms the other day and looked into her eyes and said, "You know you were my first baby? You'll always be my baby." Bella gave me this crazy looked and whispered, "Ummmm.....I'm not the right size, I'm a little big to be your baby." It lightened the mood and made me snap out of my sentimental moment.
And then I look at Parker, and I think, When did this happen? When did he get so tall and look like a teenager? Where was I? When did he like girls? When did he care about being seen with his parents in public?
I thought once I became a stay at home mom, life would slow down, I think it only speeds up.
